Title: Ohio area Indiana Jones fans invited to celebrate new film.

Fairborn, Ohio - Nearly a quarter-century after the release of “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” Harrison Ford returns to the silver screen once more as a swashbuckling archeologist in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” which opens May 22. The film is the fourth of the franchise and part of what has become something of a cult phenomenon.

To commemorate the release of the movie The Whip Artistry Studio of Jamestown, Ohio is hosting a premiere party from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 21at Hawthorn Suites at 730 E. Xenia Drive in Fairborn, Ohio. The premiere party is a family-friendly event and will include costume and trivia contests, snacks, and sale merchandise.  In addition, Hawthorn Suites is offering a 10% discount on rooms to all in attendance.

While the party will not include a screening of the new film, it will feature professional interactive bullwhip artistry demonstrations and attendees will also have the opportunity to try their hand at whip cracking. A certified instructor from the Society of American Whip Artistry and The Whip Artistry Studio will be there to offer whip-cracking lessons as time and space permits.

A division of GLD Enterprises & Productions, The Whip Artistry Studio is the only permanent facility in the United States dedicated to the study of bullwhips and stockwhips as a performing art and sport. The studio offers whip artistry lessons for individuals and groups ages 6 and up as well as entertaining and interactive performances and educational exhibitions for public and private events.

“Since most of us can’t go to the Hollywood premier parties, we wanted to do something right here at home to celebrate the return of Indiana Jones to the big screen,” said Gery L. Deer, managing director of The Whip Artistry Studio. In addition to managing the studio, Deer is also a professional stage performer, writer, and senior whip artistry instructor.

The cost to attend is $20 per person for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Reservations are required. The event is sponsored by Hawthorn Suites of Fairborn, GLD Enterprises & Productions, and The Whip Artistry Studio. For more information or to make a reservation for the party, contact The Whip Artistry Studio at (937) 902-4857 or go online to www.thewhipstudio.com.

Title: First trailer released for indie film “Edenwood.”

October 31, 2007 – Lion Belly Productions of Ann Arbor, Michigan has released the first trailer for their new production called “Edenwood.”  The independent film is in the final stages of production and schedule for a spring 2008 release.

“Edenwood” is a comedy that, for lack of a better description, puts the audience in mind of a parody blend of Brokeback Mountain and High School Musical. Lion Belly’s first film, “Morgan,” is a horror film that had its world premier on October 29 at Eastern Michigan University.

The film’s director and producer, Jennifer Locke, received her master’s degree in fine arts from Wichita State University in 2001. Locke is now on the faculty at EMU in the College of Arts & Sciences.

“It is really awesome that so many people are getting together to help me along with this little project and I am truly grateful,” said Locke. The director’s enthusiasm as a creative artist inspires a fun but professional atmosphere on the set.

The cast and crew were made up of a dedicated and passionate group of students, professional actors, and technicians. In addition, Locke also employed one more unique cast member for the movie, if only for a brief part.

Whip artist and performer Gery L. Deer, of Jamestown, appears in this unlikely comedy playing the part of a western entertainer at a theme party that occurs in the story. Deer went on location in Michigan to shoot his segments early in October also appearing in other scenes as an extra.

“Thanks to my friend Joe Saul, who lives in Ann Arbor and referred me to one of the cast members, I got to be part of something really fun,” said Deer. “This had to be one of the most enjoyable and professionally done projects I’ve ever worked on.”

“Morgan,” will begin circulating through indie film festivals around the country with “Edenwood” following along next spring. For more information or to view the trailer, go online to www.thewhipstudio.com.

The trailer has been uploaded to YouTube and can be viewed here:
