Local entertainers strut their stuff on a moving stage.

For Immediate Release Jamestown, Ohio

 SEPTEMBER 22 2007

Jamestown, Ohio – Internationally-known entertainers will be performing during the Jamestown Lions Club Bean Festival Parade at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 22 in Jamestown, Ohio. Champion knife throwing performer Kirk Bass, 2006 magician of the year James Karns, and America’s Got Talent whip artist and entertainer Gery L. Deer will be performing throughout the parade route aboard the GLD Enterprises & Productions’ 40-foot mobile stage. The performances during the parade are part of the Local Talent Awareness program presented by GLD Enterprises & Productions, an entertainment provider based in Greene County.

The goal of the Local Talent Awareness program is to inform Miami Valley area event planners, festival organizers, and the general public that there is a host of unique, award-winning talent available right here at home. Often event planners will import entertainment from a greater distance in hopes of impressing event goers.

Local festival and event planners often spend three to five times more of their budget on imported talent than if they had chosen equally-talented, and often better-known, performers from the local area. Utilizing local resources also helps to support the local economy and keeps talented entertainers closer to home and family.

Knife thrower Kirk Bass, of Xenia, and his wife Melodee offer an impressive impalement routine. Bass is a champion certified thrown weapons performer and instructor with the International Knife Throwers Hall of Fame. Classic magician James Karns, of Fairborn, has been performing for many years and holds the title of International Brotherhood of Magicians Ring 324 Magician of the Year for 2004 and 2006.

Whip artist and entertainer Gery L. Deer works with his partner and wife Scout and have been performers on TV programs like America’s Got Talent and Steve Harvey’s Big Time. Deer will be receiving the honor of “Wild West Performer of the Year” and special induction from the International Knife Throwers Hall of Fame for his whip artistry performances and historical western presentations.

“Many of our most talented performers in the Miami Valley are overlooked,” said Deer. “These are professional entertainers and can work everywhere from a birthday party to the stage at Dayton’s Schuster Center.” On the mobile stage, Deer and Karns will be performing excerpts from their unique and very popular hybrid show, “Whips & Wands.”

For more information on local entertainers visit the GLD Enterprises & Productions website at www.gldentertainment.com or call (937) 902-4857.
