FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Variety show dinner theater holding open auditions.GLD Enterprises & Productions performers to present at Columbus science fiction convention.DATED MATERIAL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: GLD Enterprises & Productions Ph: (937) 902-4857 Email: gdeer@gldenterprises.net TITLE: Auditions open October 1 for January 19 variety show in Xenia. GLD Enterprises & Productions is opening auditions for performers in a live family-oriented variety show to be presented on Saturday evening, January 19, 2008 at 6:30PM at the Schlinder Banquet Center in Xenia, Ohio. The show is part of an evening of dinner theater that includes a meal followed by the performance.
About the show: Radio programs in the 1930s and 40s were performed as stage productions for a live audience and broadcast over network radio. This performance follows the formula of these radio shows and will include music, comedy routines, short radio plays, and live commercials performed by the announcers, actors, and other artists. All performers should be high-energy with good audio content. (For a background on this kind of show see the George Lucas movie ‘Radioland Murders’ – you’ll see how the production is done.) Note: ALL material must be G-rated.
Auditions will be open from Monday October 1, 2007 through November 1, 2007 for the following performers:
variety / novelty performers (Must have good audio content – not just visual) actors (2 M, 2F) models (2 F) musicians (Must provide your own accompaniments) musical groups / bands (country, oldies, jazz) dancers (2 F) stand-up comics / comedy teams
Variety and music performers will provide their own costuming and props. Performers must be able to commit to expected rehearsal times – evening or weekend times in November, December and early January. Most rehearsals will be held at the GLD Enterprises & Productions studio in Jamestown, Ohio. Some performers will participate in more than one part of the show. (ie: actors may be used as stage crew).
Some performers receive pay for their parts; some receive promotional references and experience time. Pay rates will be based on area of expertise, experience, and level of involvement in show. The show will be broadcast live on local radio and recorded for production as an audio program to compact disc - all performers will be required to sign a release.
How to apply: Please submit appropriate materials (photos, video, audio samples, resumes, and letters of reference) to:
