by author Jay Conrad Levinson, "Guerrilla Marketing" is a term used to describe
unconventional and more economical marketing and advertising techniques.
Entrepreneur and entertainer Gery L. Deer has used these techniques to push his
unusual businesses from concept to profit center. The seminar covers the basics
of the guerrilla marketing concept beginning with tools that most businesses
already have in place that can be enhanced by some creative planning.
This is a 60-90 minute presentation available anywhere in
the United States.

Do you sometimes
struggle with how to talk to a group about your business? Public speaking
classes and toastmaster lessons can help but there are some skills that these
kinds of classes do not teach. “First Impressions In
60 Seconds” is a 1-hour interactive workshop that goes into the skills used by
stage performers to develop their skills and applied to business interactions
and public speaking situations. We teach you to think about speaking to people
about your company or business in a totally different way. This session is
perfect for small business owners or those who work independently and need to
have more confidence in speaking about their work to larger companies or groups.
Don’t be shy when talking about how great your work is – let people know.
Inspire them with confidence in your own work that will make them want to work
with you. This is a one-of-a-kind session and only offered through GLD
Enterprises & Productions.

by author Marci Alboher (One Person / Multiple Careers), the "slash" effect
refers to the tendency in some people towards a multiple-career lifestyle. Not
in changing careers, but in keeping several going at once! Presenter Gery L.
Deer is something of an expert in this arena, having had his multiple career
life since his college years.
In his seminar,
Gery helps people identify personality traits that make them more apt to be
suited for this kind of professional lifestyle. He also helps dispel the myth
that these people are 'jacks of all trades,' but instead professionals who
choose to make use of many skills rather than be defined by one occupation.
Here's a reprint of Marci's blog about Gery ...
Months ago, when my book first came out, Gery Deer, from Ohio, wrote me one
of my first real "fan" letters. Here's how he started his note:
I have been a ‘slash’ as you call it my entire life. I have always had
multiple interests and had more than one ‘job’ or ‘business’ running at a
time. I wanted to thank you for putting down into words what describes my
lifestyle. I have always bumped heads with ‘normal’ people and folks who
believe that your occupation is who and what you are – period. To them, I’ve
always seemed like someone with NO focus since I was capable of many.
What I loved about his note is that he included links to various URLs
that helped explain the different things he spends his time on: an
entertainment and talent referral agency, a
computer consultancy ("supposed to be the breadwinner but is falling
behind"), his
whip artistry studio, the
family band, and his freelance writing. It was all nicely explained in
his
online bio describing him as a writer/speaker/entertainer/consultant.
Of course, the part that got me most interested was the whip artistry. It's
also what ties it all together, so to speak (as you'll see if you look at
the different sites.) Though I have never encountered anyone who made their
living (or even part of it) doing this kind of work, I resisted writing
about it because I just couldn't really envision it. That is until Gery sent
me this spot from the Cincinnati local news where he demonstrates his whip
thing. You have to watch it for yourself to get the full effect. Sit back
and enjoy.
